Twenty Four Seven

17 year old Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker

Their Story

I was 17 when I came to England and moved to Shrewsbury House. I only knew a little English and was worried what things were going to be like.

Staff helped me to communicate using the internet and pictures. They supported me to get a college course so I could learn more English.

They showed me how to understand English money and what it was like living in England. I made friends at the home and they also helped me learn more English.

Staff were always happy to help and spend time with me. I stayed there 9 months. I now have a job, still at college and live in my own flat.

I still go back and see staff at Shrewsbury House. They are always happy to see me and hear how well I am doing.
